CSR@天下

The U20 International Youth Forum will debut on October 2, 2021! A dialogue between the young U20 generation and companies, listen to 7 youth groups present their action projects online, making climate action more effective and social action more diverse.

“Earth’s new voices - welcome aboard the World Defence Express!" The second U20 International Youth Forum will be held live online on October 2nd (Saturday): register now. Faced with the damage caused by climate change and social injustice, we cannot go back and alter the past, but now, every action of every person could become the pivot for changing the future!

In 2020, the world was shrouded in the shadow of COVID-19. In 2021, the coronavirus will continue to burn and spread like a wildfire. The number of confirmed cases worldwide will exceed 100 million. This not only impacts global health, but also exacerbates economic and social inequality.

Under this situation, large-scale wildfires and floods continue to occur all over the world, constantly affecting human settlements. The ever-worsening climate catastrophe threatens human survival and safety, worsening economic difficulties and other issues, causing climate and social problems in various places to deteriorate over time.

What is U20?

In 2020, 'CommonWealth Magazine', 'CSR@Commonwealth', and the youth of today collectively defined: the passionate generation under 30, who care about the environment and society, is a unique group called 'Unique 20, U20'. In 2021, we call out again: “Earth’s new voice - all aboard! Welcome to the World Defence Express”, inviting everyone to begin the journey to defend the world together.

In 2020, we selected 17 teams from nearly a hundred registered teams to enter the semi-finals, co-organized workshops with the Center for Global Affairs and Scientific Development (MOST GASE), and recruited industry elites for experience sharing and training. Finally, we selected three youth team representatives to stand on the forum and speak out their worldview and actions to entrepreneurs and government officials.

But that’s not all, U20 youths not only get opportunities to cooperate with enterprises, but also to connect with each other to expand their sustainable actions.

Do you want to be like them and get to know more young people who are equally passionate and concerned about sustainability issues? Then you must keep reading.

However, the forum is a public speaking occasion, if there are intellectual property right or copyright considerations, it is recommended the information included in the presentation undergo careful selection.

Q6: How will discussion in the forum be conducted?

Q9: I am of the right age, and I am starting a business, but I am not a student. Do I have the opportunity to participate?

A: This year’s forum will change the system for founders of a start-up team to invite-only. If you are a founder of a start-up team, please write to [email protected] to introduce your team to us. The organizer will consider it at that time and will invite the team to set up a booth or give a speech on stage depending on the situation.

Q10: What are the definitions and limitations of a 'start-up team'?

A: A startup team is defined as an organization that has completed company/non-profit organization registration. If the founder of a start-up company cannot directly submit a submission to the competition, please write to [email protected], attach a basic introduction of the organization, the problems expected to be solved, the projects that have been initiated, and expected planning, which will be evaluated and invited by CommonWealth Magazine to be a forum speaker and design a booth at the forum.

Q11: How should 'start-up teams' participate in this sign-up?

A: If the contributor is not the founder of the startup team, but is a member of the organization (for example, project manager) and is of the right age, they can sign-up through general entry to solicit documents to participate in the workshop and the final selection. At the same time, we hope the contestants can emphasize why they want to join a startup team and what their main contributions are in the company. There is such a separation because it is believed that the difficulty of establishing an organization is different from that of promoting projects in the organization. In order to make the sign-up more fair, the founder invitation system and the organization member sign-up systems are adopted. For example: last year, the international cooperation department participated in the TWYCC competition, rather than the chairman or founders representing the entire organization.

Q12: Can the sign-up only be completed in Chinese?

A: The application form itself can be filled in and submitted in English. When the next report is shared, the briefing still needs to be presented in Chinese, but the oral report can be expressed in English.

Q13: The current pandemic is severe, are there countermeasures?

A: It is currently confirmed that the workshops on 8/07 (Saturday) and 8/14 (Saturday) will be conducted in the form of online conferences. The company will introduce Ruoshui International, the Luteng Biomass Office, and the co-founders and executives of Luteng Biomass through corporate visits. Zheng Hanrui, Chief Executive Officer of Ruoshui International, Chen Jieru, and all workshop trainers will give lectures and interactions online. Participating young people can still ask questions and communicate with the instructors through online conferences. The 08/21 (Saturday) selection finals and the 10/02 (Saturday) U20 International Youth Forum will be adjusted according to the epidemic situation, and will be announced according to the situation. The health and safety of the participants are the first priority.

※ Based on good faith, the responses to the selection materials should be factual. If there is a violation of this principle, the organizer has the right to cancel the qualification.
